Development and assessment of herbal mouth freshener

Abstract: 
The increasing awareness of the side effects associated with synthetic oral care products has led to a growing interest in herbal alternatives. This study focuses on the formulation and evaluation of a natural herbal mouth freshener using Rose, turmeric, lemon grass, Aloe vera, and Tulasi plants known for their antimicrobial, deodorizing, and refreshing properties with proven efficacy in oral hygiene and breath freshening. The herbal formulations ensuring both acceptability and functionality. The mouth freshener was effective in improving breath freshness, exhibited antimicrobial activity, and remained stable under standard storage condition. The study supports the potential of herbal ingredients in developing a safe, effective, and consumer-friendly alternative to conventional mouth fresheners. The mouth spray has been prepared using the following materials: Rose, turmeric, lemon grass, Aloe vera, and Tulasi.
